The cost of orthodontic treatment is a major consideration but is not the only factor to take into consideration. Your main concern is finding a reputable orthodontist who has the skills and experience necessary to treat your problem.

The newer, state of the art braces such as Invisalign, Clearstep, 6 Month Smiles and Inman Aligners are more expensive than the traditional metal and wire brace. But bear in mind that you are paying for their appearance, comfort and faster results.

Basically, if you want a brace which is practically invisible, removable, and is easy to clean and achieves results within a matter of weeks then expect to pay more for it.

• Inman Aligners: prices vary from £1,200 up to £2,500 or more. This is a cheaper type of brace but has limitations.
• Damon braces: a more expensive brace with prices starting from £2,500 up to £7,000. The reason for this price is the quicker results.
• Lingual braces/incognito: prices range from £3,000 up to £13,000 or more. The reason for this is that this brace is fitted to the rear side of your teeth which makes them practically invisible. Plus it is a complex brace which requires specialist skills and experience.
• 6 Month Smiles: prices start at £1,500/£2,000 and go up to £3,000 or more.
• STb social 6 braces: prices range from £2,000 up to £3,000 or more.

• Clearstep: prices vary between £2,000 and £3,000 or more.

Many clinics have finance plans which enable you to spread the cost of payment. But the costs of treatment will be discussed during the initial consultation with the orthodontist.

Price is an important factor but do not be guided this only. Take other factors into account, e.g. experience of the orthodontist before making a decision.
